Saint Francis had a mission - to rebuild God's Church. At first, he thought that meant bricks and stone. However, he soon concluded that his mission was to spread the Gospel of Jesus. He fulfilled that mission by reaching out. His friars were true evangelists and teachers. 

If Francis were with us today, of course he would make use of today's tools including a smartphone, tablet, or laptop. He would even have a website. All, of course, would be applied to "rebuilding the Church."

In today's society, so many of us fall into the trap of dualistic thinking - right or wrong, up or down, etc. Technology is neither good nor bad. It consists of tools that help us do all sorts of positive things - like rebuilding the Church.
